Mono no aware: a Japanese term which illustrates the panoramic concept of bittersweet feeling evoked by unavoidable transience. The significance of this principle is to recognize the beauty of impermanence in everything that exists and to create a deeper connection with it because of its temporary nature.

Toronto native, Storm Luu has photographed this series over a two year span in which she lived in Tokyo, and travelled across Japan on local trains with her 35mm film camera. Mono No Aware is a collection of momentos scattered across time and place but linked through capturing the minutia of a fragile fleeting moment.
